Role and Responsibilities

Summary


You will work as an Airbus A320 (A320) series pilot to support Valor, and our subsidiary Global Aircraft Services, to plan, conduct, and document non-revenue, ferry flights, and post-maintenance test flights. You will work with our flight support team to prepare for and execute domestic and international ferry flights. You will represent our Company and our lessor partners during demonstration flights for air carriers. Your flight duties will take you to non-standard locations as we help out customers navigate the logistical and regulatory challenges of transferring aircraft from one operator to another. 

Location

 

Applications will travel to and work at aircraft storage sites, aviation MRO locations, or airports where customer aircraft are located. This is a home-based position, with travel to and from the customer sites paid for and arranged by Valor. For some projects, you may be working for several days or longer at a particular site depending on the type of flight operations. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with flight support and dispatch team to plan aircraft ferry, test, and demonstration flights.

  • Calculate aircraft performance information, such as weight and balance, takeoff and landing data, engine performance settings, and other items - using aircraft technical publications

  • Conduct ground testing of aircraft systems prior to test flights or return-to-service events

  • Operate A320 series aircraft during ground and flight operations.

  • Work with other flight crew members to effectively accomplish flight operations in full compliance with FAA or international regulatory requirements.

  • Document aircraft flight information and maintenance related reports post-flight.

  • Provide lessons learned to continuously improve Company flight operations effectiveness and safety. 

  • Complete training on and remain aware of procedural and regulatory requirements found in long-range, oceanic, and high-altitude flight environments
     

Qualifications and Education Requirements
 

  • Must have a bachelor's degree.

  • Possess an FAA Commercial Pilot certificate or Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate with the appropriate category and class ratings (instrument rating with multiengine engine privileges).

  • Must be type rated in the A320 aircraft.

  • Possess and maintain a current FAA class 2 medical.

  • Possess a FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operators Permit.

  • Have logged a minimum of 1000 flight hours as Pilot-in-Command, of which 500 hours were in multiengine turbine aircraft.

  • Contractor personnel shall be able to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
     

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience as a multiengine jet flight instructor or line check airman.

  • Prior experience in flight testing, aircraft delivery, or ferry operations.
     

Work Environment and Physical Demands
 

  • This job operates in aircraft, hangar, office, classroom, and simulator environments.

  • Work in a complex aviation testing and flight environment; communicate and maintain/submit required actions and reports by company, customer, and personal computer devices, plus current telephone and fax devices.

  • Will be working in areas with risk of electrical shock and from moving mechanical parts driven by hydraulics under high pressure.

  • Will at times be exposed to the following conditions: extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.

  • Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and lift up to 15 pounds.
